Blaine Thomas Busenbark

Our loving husband, father, and grandfather, Blaine Thomas Busenbark, passed away July 12, 2022 at 7:50 a.m. Born September 28, 1932 in Salt Lake City, the only child of Thomas William Busenbark and Desdamona Woolsey. His mother died in 1943 and his step-mother, Willmer Sandall Lynch Busenbark, helped raise him. Married Colleen Isabell Taylor, June 10, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. Resident of Bountiful since 1964.
Graduated from South High School at the age of 16. Attended Westminster College for two years. Received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah, where he was elected to Tau Beta Pi, engineering honorary. Did post graduate work at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Worked for General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas. Also, Sperry and Hercules. Spent 32 years as a senior electronics engineer at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1991.
Active High Priest in the Bountiful 25th Ward. Joined the National Associates of Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) in 1991, later serving as Utah Federation President for six years; also, served as Bountiful Chapter president; and Democratic vice-chair for Legislative District 19 (Bountiful). Avid University of Utah sports fan.
Blaine was very proud of his children and grandchildren and of their accomplishments. He enjoyed traveling, working in politics, theater, reading and working in his yard.
Survived by his children: Julie Elaine (Steven) Andersen, Bountiful, and Blair Thomas (Barbara Herbert), Redmond, Wa; grandchildren: Natalie (Aaron) Andersen, Rachel (Shane) Broadbent, Andrew Scott Busenbark (Shelly), Megan Scott-Busenbark, Monroe, Michaela (Jon) and Hamilton Busenbark; great-grandchildren: Taylor Bell Broadbent, Thomas and Jackson. Also, Parker Pfieffer. 
Preceded in death by wife, Colleen, sons Neil Blaine Busenbark, Gordon, parents and step-mother.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2022 at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South, Millcreek, Utah
