Blair Oberg Furner, age 97, passed away at home January 6, 2022, of natural causes. He is the son of William Edgar Furner and Theressa Ellen Oberg. His eight siblings and his parents have preceded him in death.
He lived a full and productive life. He attended the University of Utah and graduated as a Mechanical Engineer. He served in the Army Air Corp in WWII. He served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Argentina. He married Joan Parrish Furner in the Salt Lake Temple. He was always active in the Church, serving in many capacities. After, retiring, he served with his wife on a mission to Malaga, Spain.
He was the CEO of Heath Engineering Company of Salt Lake City for many years. He was very hard-working and honest.
He is survived by his wife Joan and his sons, W. Blair (Carolyn), Rey (Thelma), Carl (Mary), Paul (Joylyn), and daughter, Mary Ellen Rosen (Mark) and many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 14, 2022, at the Parrish Heights Ward building, 610 North Rowland Way, Centerville, Utah. A viewing will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah and Friday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Centerville City Cemetery.
Services will be streamed live on the Russon Brothers Mortuary Facebook page and on this obituary page. Streaming will begin about 15 minutes prior to services.
