Blanche Nelson Ruflin, passed away in Bountiful on December 7, 2005. She was 93 years-old. Blanche was born September 20, 1912 in Woods Cross, Utah, to Laurence Nels and Ellen Blanche Hatch Nelson. Blanche graduated from Davis High School in 1930 and went on to graduate from LDS Business School. She married Otto Ruflin on June 2, 1935, in the Salt Lake Temple. Blanche was an active member of the LDS Church and served in numerous callings including Relief Society President. Otto and Blanche had a wonderful life together. Otto owned and operated his own business, Ruflin Neon Sign Company. Blanche assisted him in all their business ventures. They loved to travel. She always enjoyed cooking and learned culinary skills from her mother and aunts. Anyone who had dined at her table could attest to her great cooking reputation. Blanche was proud of her pioneer heritage and was a member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers for more than 50 years. Blanche had a deep love for her family. She is survived by her children Blanche Nelson Kelly, and Robert Alan Ruflin. She adored her five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Otto and two infant sons. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10th, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah. Viewing from 10:15 – 11:15 a.m. prior to services..
