Blythe Maynard Gardner, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all, passed from this life on a beautiful spring day, April 4, 2007. Blythe was born on September 4, 1915 in Venice, Utah, one of 13 children of William and Annie Gardner, and he was the last surviving member of that wonderful family. He married Genevieve Myrle Sylvester March 31, 1937 in the St. George LDS Temple. He spent his youth in Venice, and left to serve a mission in Germany at age 18. He served proudly in the Armed Forces of America, being stationed in India during WWII. Blythe served as Bishop of the Richfield Fourth Ward, then as President of the South German Mission and later as President of the Sevier Stake. He enthusiastically served another mission at age 81 with his sweet Genevieve in San Diego, California. He also served as a temple sealer for many years. He was a rancher and leader in the cattle industry. Blythe is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 70 years, Genevieve S. Gardner; their four daughters, Julie Glenn McKenzie, Joyce Gardner, Gloria Gardner and Marianne Kendall Sorensen; and 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Sesiu ?Susie? Motuliki was his devoted and much loved caregiver. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Oak Hills Chapel, 455 South 1200 East, Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Tuesday 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the church. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
