Bonnie Kathryn Penrose Hill, wife of Finley Allen Hill took her last breath January 24, 2011. She died of Pulmonary Fibrosis. Bonnie was born May 3, 1935 to Robert Penny Penrose and Kathryn Brown Penrose in Salt Lake City. She grew up on I Street in the Avenues, choosing to attend West High School because she liked the people there. She was involved in numerous clubs and activities including being a varsity cheerleader. It was there she met a handsome young man, Allen Hill. They were married in 1955; she loved him so much she remarried him in 1977. She loved her sons, her family and the many people she considered as part of her family. She raised many others in addition to her sons. Her four sons are , Steven (Leanne), Robert (Jodi Hutchinson), Richard (Robyn Bivins), and Jerry. In 1963 they moved to Bountiful Utah. Later they moved to North Salt Lake on Eaglewood Golf Course and then to their present home in North Salt Lake. She worked for Graybar Electric and Fred A. Moreton Insurance. Bonnie lived a modest and frugal life. She stressed kindness, respect for all, being polite, patriotism, family, friends and being nice to others (even if you didnt like them). Her concern, even in death, was for others around her. She disliked pretentious, arrogant and unkind people. She was involved with the championship Bountiful Sweet Adelines, loved music, theatre, reading, golf, bowling, four wheeling, rock hounding, and laughter. She and best friend, sister Robyn Thompson, were among the original supporters of Utah Gymnastics and were honored by the Red Rocks as Super Fans. She traveled to each of the NCAA Championships. No one cheered louder than Bonnie and her circle of Ute friends, at home, on the road, and across the country. With her sister, friends, and family, she laughed and cried and played and sang and supported one another. She was proud of her children, her grandchildren, Shelby (Nathan) Webster, Stefanie (Jeff) Bowen, Tylee (Tyler) Hansen, Anthony Hill (Senior, US Air Force Academy), Jaila Hill and great grandchildren Carson and Zachary Webster. They will all miss Grandma B. Her dog Abbey is lost without her, as are we. Mom wrote, Love to all of you. Thanks for the memories. Ill always be near to you and part of the family. Take time to enjoy every breath you take. Go Utes! Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where a visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8:00 pm and before the funeral from 9:45-10:45 am.
