Boyd Laurence Mitton

December 16, 1934 — July 5, 2024

Boyd Laurence Mitton (Mitt) passed away July 5, 2024 peacefully in Bountiful, Utah. Mitt was the second born of three to Laurence R. and Jessie Cressall Mitton on December 16, 1934 in Whitney, Idaho. He served an LDS mission in the Navajo Indian reservation both in Arizona and New Mexico. Upon returning home he met his valentine Beverly Bingham and they were sealed on February 14,1958 in the Logan Temple.

They started their life together and family in Logan, then relocated to Bountiful. Their love for antiques led them to own and operate Easy Way Furniture in Bountiful and later in Woods Cross. Many brought their cherished antiques to be restored and repaired by Mitt and Beverly. After selling the store in 1996 they retired to Farmington, Utah. They continued to make many memories and close friends. Mitt enjoyed playing the piano, especially for the Primary children.

Beverly passed away in 2006 after 48 years of marriage. Mitt later met and married Kathleen Emmett in 2007. They relocated to St. George, Utah until Kathleen’s passing.

Mitt is survived by his 4 children, Linda (David) Malone, Larry (Jackie) Mitton, Louise (David) Phelps, LeAnn (Ben) Jorgensen and his brother Scott (Phyllis) Mitton. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mitt was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth Ann Lewis and 3 grandsons, Tyler Mitton, Eric and David Malone.

Boyd will be laid to rest next to Beverly in the Farmington City Cemetery.
