Brandon L Dyer

Brandon Lee Dyer, age 52, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021, at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada after a short and hard fight against COVID.

He was born December 3, 1968, in Ogden, UT to Jerry and Lorraine Dyer. He grew up in Farmington, UT and graduated from Davis High School (‘87) where he was known for his varsity athleticism in football, basketball, and baseball. This athleticism continued into college. He then served a 2-year mission (‘87-’89) for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Quito, Ecuador. Upon his return, he went on to graduate from Weber State University and started his career as a Natural Gas Trader. Through his 25 years in the field, he became well respected and a distinguished example amongst those in the world of trading.

His best friend’s little sister, Jodie, became the love of his life and they began their nearly 31-year earthly journey on December 12, 1990 in the Ogden, UT temple. Throughout their life together they had 4 wonderful children and lived in various places including Farmington, UT, Kaysville, UT, Denver, CO, and Las Vegas, NV.

Brandon was a gentle giant with a heart to match. His family was his pride and joy, for which he worked tirelessly to provide, protect, and preside for. The love and devotion between “Bran-O” and his sweetheart, Jodie, could be felt across the room. He loved to share his talent for his favorite sports with his children and those that lovingly call him “Coach Dyer”. Brandon’s intellect and wisdom was unmatched and constantly called upon by his children for advice. “Pa-pa” will be missed by his grandkids who loved to be teased, tickled, and play hide and seek with him around the house. They kept a smile on his face and brought much-needed joy to him.

As a devoted follower of Christ and his teachings, Brandon led by mighty example for all those around him. His spirit, love, and peace will reside with us always, through the Savior, just as one of his favorite scriptures illustrates. John 14:27

Brandon will be sorely missed. His great impact will continue on. And his family holds on to the hope that they will one day hug their “Superman” again through the knowledge that- “Families are Forever”

Brandon is survived by his wife, Jodie Lynn Bush Dyer; his children, Jessica (James) Maughan, Natalie (Brandon) Hodges, Jacquelyn Dyer, and Payton Dyer; his grandchildren, Asher Maughan and Navy Hodges; his mother, Lorraine Carlisle Dyer; his sister, Cami Mounteer; and many brothers & sisters by marriage, nieces & nephews, aunts & uncles, and cousins that love him dearly. Brandon is preceded in death by his father, Jerry E. Dyer.

A viewing will be held Sunday, October 31st from 6-8 pm at Russon Mortuary (1941 N. Main Street Farmington, UT). The funeral will be held on November 1st at Steed Creek Chapel (347 S. 200 W. Farmington, UT) at 11 am with an additional viewing prior from 9:30-10:30 am. Brandon will be laid to rest in the Kaysville City Cemetery.
