Breck Alan Avery was born on May 31, 1984, in Bountiful, Utah. He died on March 16, 2025, at home after a brief illness. He was 40 years old. Breck was the third of four sons born to Kim and Tami Avery. As a child, he was always on the go, and it was tough to keep him down. When Breck turned three, he had open-heart surgery, but three days after surgery, he had his dad remove the training wheels from his new bike, and he never looked back. Breck was fun-loving and loved people. He made friends easily and had a crazy sense of adventure, always getting into mischief.
When Breck was 18, he lost his dad, with whom he had a very close relationship. Breck spent many days and nights in the hospital with his dad during his final days. After his dad passed away, Breck, an animal lover, bought himself a boxer and named him Gibbson. They went everywhere together, and sometimes he even snuck Gibbson into school, tucked into his hoodie. Gibbson became Breck’s therapy, providing comfort and companionship during this difficult time. Breck also had many close friends who were there to support him through this challenging period.
After graduating, Breck went to school and became a plumber. He loved working as a mechanical plumber and, at some point, had the chance to work with each of his brothers, either plumbing or driving machinery. He married Ali Leaver, and although their marriage ended in divorce, they shared the greatest joy of his life, their daughter Juniper Scout. Breck loved being around children and was happiest when he could be with June, cherishing every minute spent with her.
Breck made friends easily and could make anything more fun. He loved to draw, write stories and poetry, and had a passionate addiction to colored pens and pencils. Breck’s health began to decline in his 20s, and he struggled with many illnesses that frustrated his easygoing personality.
He will be missed by his close friends: Heather, Nick, Aaron, and Chris, and especially his family. He is survived by his mom Tami; step-dad Ron White; brothers Chad (Traci), Brey (Hillary), and Keate; nieces Leila, Lydia, Quinn, Piper, Lauren, and Vivi; his Grandma Thella Weaver; and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his dad Kim, Grandpa Dean (Grandpa Yellow Boat), Grandpa Alan (Grandpa Red Boat), Grandma Sunny (June Avery), Aunt Pam, and his boxers Gibbson and Bowser. What a wonderful reunion that will be.
His funeral will be on Thursday, March 27, 2025, with the viewing from 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. and the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main St., Bountiful, Utah.
