Brent Doney Allen passed away peacefully November 1, 2014 at home with his family in Kaysville, Utah. Born November 24, 1959 In Cove, Utah the 4th of 8 children, to Seth Skidmore Allen and LaDawn Doney Allen.
Brent was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for which he faithfully served a full-time mission in the Taipei, Taiwan. Later he served as a Stake Mission President, Bishopric Counselor, and Home Teacher. He graduated from Skyview High School in Smithfield, Utah and later graduated from Utah State University. He was an avid Aggie sports fan raising his children in the right ways of Aggie Sports. He worked as a manager in Mervyns Distribution for 15 years and then moved on to Employment with the LDS Church. First he worked with Deseret Industries and then Distribution Services. He loved the time spent and the friendships made while with Church Employment.
Brent loved music and participated in anything he could that involved singing. Some of his favorite memories of music include participation with High School Choir, Musicals, Front Porch, & Pickleville. Later he was able to brighten the lives of so many others while participating in other ensembles, some of which included Willy and Wooley, the Kathy Skidmore Singers, The Other 3 Tenors, in addition to achieving his lifelong goal of being a member of The Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
Apart from his talents in music, Brent was a compassionate Husband, Father, and Friend and was always the one who could brighten up any mood with his humor particularly tuned to puns and wordplay. His influence, testimony, and sense of humor literally touched the lives of people all around the world, and will continue to be felt in the lives of those he touched.
Brent is survived by his wife: Kathrine Cutler Allen; sons: Jonathan Brent Allen, Riley Levi Allen; daughters: Ellen Nicole Allen, Karyn Leigh Allen, Tiffani Lynn Allen; mother: LaDawn Doney Allen; siblings: Roxanne Saxton (Mike), Steve Allen (Heidi), Lyle Allen (Kimberly), Dave Allen (Melanie), Janeen Allen, Lisa Allen (Gary). Brent is preceded in death by his older sister Sherri and Father Seth.
The family would love to thank the wonderful nursing staff from McKay-Dee Hospital, the Hospice care Nurses, and Dr. Hansen and his office staff who took such great care with Brent.
A viewing will be held from 5:30-7:30 on Thursday evening at the Russon Brothers Farmington Mortuary, 1941 North Main Street, Farmington UT. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Friday, November 7th with a viewing at 10:00-11:30 prior to the service. Fridays events are at the Kaysville South LDS Stake Center 900 South Main Street, Kaysville UT.
