Brent Arlan Burnett passed away on 20 May 2023 surrounded by family at St. Mark’s hospital following a two month long courageous battle. Brent was born August 11, 1957 in Buffalo, New York to Durward Abram Burnett and Nona Cook Burnett. Brent was recently retired after spending 37 years as an Assistant Attorney General for State of Utah. Brent was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities, but his favorite calling was as the gospel doctrine teacher, where he shared his abundant knowledge of history and scripture. He served a full-time mission in the Italy Rome Mission. He worked for 25 years as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America and was very proud of his six Eagle Scout sons, and all of the other boys he mentored during that time. He attended Wood Badge training once as a student and once as a leader, and was the recipient of the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver Award. Brent's life was dedicated to the Lord and his family. We know his work will continue on the other side of the veil and his exquisite light will live on in those whose lives he touched" Brent is survived by his wife, Terri Lee Jefferson Burnett, his seven children, Jonathan (Shandra) Burnett, Joshua (Amy) Burnett, Justin (Sierra) Burnett, Timothy (Vanessa) Burnett, Emily (John) Richards, Patrick Burnett and Peter Burnett. He is the proud grandfather of 20 grandchildren who were the light of his life. During his last days, the sound of their voice or the glance at their picture brought a smile to his face and a tear to his eye. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren, his brothers, Duane and Roger Burnett, and his sister Diane Davis. He is preceded in death by his parents, Durward and Nona Burnett, and his sister, Linda Burnett.
