Brent Cederlof

December 22, 1941 — September 17, 2011

Brent Murphy Cederlof died September 17, 2011 from complications following heart surgery. He was surrounded by his family. Brent was born December 22, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lucile Murphy and Philip Cederlof. He graduated from East High School in 1960 and from the University of Utah in 1966 with a Bachelor’s degree in banking and finance. Brent served as a full time missionary in the Central British Mission from 1963 to 1965. He married Wendy Woodbury in the Salt Lake Temple August 22, 1966. Brent worked for O.C. Tanner and in the real estate and construction business. He was employed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for twenty-five years. Through his work, Brent and his family lived in Samoa, Hawaii, Germany and England from 1977 to 1987. After retiring in 1998, Brent and his wife, Wendy, began serving as ordinance workers in the Bountiful Utah Temple. In 2003 they served a temple mission in Nauvoo. In 2004 they served another temple mission in the New York Manhattan Temple. In 2006 Brent was called into the temple presidency of the Palmyra New York Temple. In 2010 Brent and Wendy served in the Los Angeles Temple, with Brent serving as a sealer. After a year of service, they resumed their work in the Bountiful Utah Temple, where Brent continued his work as a sealer. Brent spent his life acquiring knowledge. He gave many hours to the study of the scriptures and the Gospel. His many other interests included: music (especially opera), as well as poetry, literature, ballet, art, history, astronomy, aviation, travel, geography and architecture. Brent will be deeply missed by his wife, Wendy, as well as his children: Clayton (Alicia) Cederlof, Stephanie (Chad) Hawkins, Nathan (Cindy) Cederlof, Aaron Cederlof and Suzanne (Jerald) Simon, his siblings: Clark Cederlof (Pat), Gay Brown (Allen), Wayne Cederlof, Reid Cederlof (Robin) and his 13 grandchildren. A viewing for Brent will be held on Thursday, September 22 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary: 1941 North Main Street, Farmington, Utah. Another viewing will be held on Friday, September 23 from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral services, which will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Country Lane Chapel: 24 South Country Lane, Fruit Heights, Utah. Interment will be in the Kaysville City Cemetery.
