Brent Dee Morris

July 10, 1946 — April 5, 2020

"Life is too serious to be taken seriously" –words often spoken by Brent Dee Morris who
peacefully passed away April 5, 2020. He was born on July 10, 1946 to Paul Mark and Helen D.
Morris. Brent's positive, forward approach to living his life was an example to his family and
friends. In his gospel centered life, ministering was his favorite form of service, which he
accomplished as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. Brent cherished
his opportunities to serve whether it was with a High Council, a Bishopric, the Scouting
program, or serving wherever he was needed. He served an honorable mission in New Zealand
and later a service mission in Kaysville, Utah.

As a Landscape Architect, graduating from Utah State University, he devoted his career to
beautifying various local university campuses throughout the state of Utah, believing that "the
best time to plant a tree was yesterday."

Brent's marriage to Shauna created an eternal bond, that lasted 50 years, resulting in an
endearing posterity. His amazing sons, who never provided a dull moment, include Justin
(Annie), Jared (Amy), Whit (Tiff) and his precious daughter Anna (Ric). He treasured his time
with his grandchildren, Isabelle, Parker, Cohen, Kate, Brecklyn, Sawyer, Navi, and Kyle who
were an inspiration and joy in his life. He was the eldest of eight siblings and the first cousin of
the Abraham Outfit, he was blessed with a close, loving, extended family.

Brent was a world traveler, always ready for a new port-of-call and loved experiencing new
cuisines. Other actives which brought him joy, were a day on the water or skiing in the
mountains and later a quick game of pickleball with family and friends. In his spare time, he was
a perpetual builder, always looking forward to the next opportunity to improve his home or
yard. His children often lamented that their home was continually under construction.

Brent, our enthusiastic, noble husband, father, Umpa, brother, friend, and neighbor, you will be
deeply missed. We remember a maxim that you often recited, "keep your fork, the best is yet
to come".
