After drinking his last carton of milk and sharing memories with his children, Brian Edward Carlson left this earthly life behind and returned, with honor, to his Heavenly home on April 1, 2021, with his loving wife and son at his side and children close by.
He entered this world on February 15, 1947 to join his father, Edward Carlson, mother, Elda Anona Christensen, and older sister Sharon Palmer (Richard). He was joined two years later by younger sister, Susan Empey (Curtis).
Brian loved the outdoors and the beauties and wonders of nature. He enjoyed fishing, skiing, painting, BYU football, and camping, but his greatest pride and joy was his vegetable garden.
Brian served an LDS mission to New Zealand calling it “the greatest mission on earth!” He loved serving his Heavenly Father and his Savior, Jesus Christ. He served in many callings, his favorite, by far, was teaching the youth in Sunday School and working with the young men.
After returning from his mission, Brian attended BYU and met the love of his life, Julene. Shortly after he graduated, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple, September 1, 1972, and moved to Davis County where they were blessed with six beautiful children: Patrick (Katrina), Matthew (Amanda), Michelle (Dan Spence), Jeffrey (Carmen), Kellianne, and Kevin (Michelle), bonus son, Rick Udy (Becky), and 22 grandchildren. They have spent the last 41 years in Farmington which he loved.
Even though his degree was in social work, Brian pursued a career in sales. He enjoyed working with people and being out of the office.
Brian is survived by his wife, Julene, children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Katrina. Brian is enjoying a glorious reunion with loved ones who have gone before.
The family would like to thank the Huntsman Hospital and their wonderful staff for making his last days pleasant and comfortable.
