Dad returned with honor to his Father in Heaven while serving a mission with his eternal companion Jo Lynn Mills in the Argentina Buenos Aires South Mission. On September 29, he stepped peacefully and suddenly into the next life leaving behind a legacy of charity and optimism that has blessed his posterity and many others.
Born October 12, 1949, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Ivo Dell Mills and Geraldine Young Mills, Bryant was the eldest son and second child of five. His early years were spent in Centerville, Utah and Brigham City, Utah. His family moved back to Centerville, Utah for the remainder of his teenage years where he graduated from Viewmont High School in 1967. After graduation, he served in the Argentina South mission, returning met the woman with whom he would share his dreams, struggles, joy, and love for nearly 50 years. He married Jo Lynn Thornton August 19, 1971 in the Salt Lake Temple. Subsequently they were blessed with five children–Bryant, Brandon (Ciara), Adam (Emily), Mika (Matthew) Hall, and Karlee (Theodore) Blaisdell.
Shortly after they married, dad built a life in Venice, Utah ranching on his grandfather’s farm for ten years. Work for the airlines brought dad back to Davis County, Utah where he built a home in North Salt Lake, UT where dad served in many different capacities in his church and took many different roles for employment.
He worked for Delta Airlines and Travelport for 38 years, but it was his church service that defined his life. He served in many callings and always gave his heart and soul into every position to which he was called.
Besides his sweetheart and children, seven beloved grandchildren will forever miss the man who would play trains, puzzles, coloring, camping, “napping game” and spending many hours with their gramps.
