Burton Satchwell

Biography

Burton K. Satchwell, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away at his home on October 22, 2014 surrounded by his family. He battled health problems with great faith many times in his life. He was born March 13, 1938, in Albion, Idaho to William Albert Satchwell and Agnes Thelma Kelley. He grew up in Albion, Idaho, and moved to Burley Idaho at age 10. He attended Burley High School where he excelled in music. He played the cello and often accompanied others on the piano. He met Carol Janet Stoker, his high school sweetheart, who also had a love for music. They were married for time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple, August 16, 1957. They made their home in Bountiful, Utah. He received an associate degree from Stevens Henager Business College. After graduation, he went to work for Sperry-Univac where he worked for the next 47 years. Burton and Carol had 5 children, 4 beautiful daughters, and one beloved son. Burton enjoyed camping, playing the piano, and spending time with his family. He was a dedicated husband and father who spent many hours quietly serving his wife and family. He served faithfully in his church callings for many years. Burton is survived by his wife and five children: Jana (Doug – deceased) McLachlan, Julia (Bruce) Johnson, Linda (Tim) Van de Merwe, Steve (Kristen) Satchwell, and Kaylin (Tony) Peters. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 27, at 11 a.m. at the Woods Cross Third Ward, 1450 S. 350 W. Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, Utah and Monday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
