Calvin Harvey Ballard was born on February 16, 1925, at his home in Hurricane, Utah to Edward Harvey and Emma Spendlove Bradshaw Ballard. He was the youngest of six children.
He peacefully passed away on March 8, 2019.
He graduated from Hurricane High in 1943.
He was in the Army Air Force from 1943 to 1945 where he flew 35 missions as a Nose Gunner on a B-17. He didn't speak much of his military service until in 2016 he went on a veteran's tour called Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. with his son Gary.
He was married to Jean Evon Jones Grow from January 1, 1953 until her death on October 25, 2014. They raised their five children in Woods Cross and all were the "apple of his eye".
He was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served as a Sunday School Counselor, High Priest Secretary, Ward Clerk, and faithful Home Teacher.
He worked for Culp Construction for 26 years where he did estimating and accounting.
After retirement he was a caregiver to his mother-in-law.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, siblings, and daughters-in-law Vicki Wood and Tammy Fullmer.
He is survived by his children: Geri (Steve) Titensor, Glen (Jen) Ballard, Gordy (Lynnette) Ballard, Gregg (Lesa) Ballard, and Gary (Melissa) Ballard, 15 Grandchildren and 39 Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Woods Cross Stake Center, 2064 South 800 West, Woods Cross. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and Friday morning 9:30 –
10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment- Lakeview Cemetery.
