Carlene Scoville Holbrook, 83, passed away in her home on Wednesday June 6, 2018. She was born on Labor Day September 3, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the youngest child of Jesse Nelson and Ruth Pryor Scoville.
She married her sweetheart, James Bryson Holbrook, on Friday February 13, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple and together they raised three beautiful daughters Diana, Jeanne, and Teri. They were married for 48 years when Jim passed away on April 4, 2001.
Most of her career was spent in the grocery business at Ream's, Alpha Beta and Albertsons. She was a hard worker balancing home, family and work plus cared for her mother for several years before she passed away.
Carlene was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in Primary and Relief Society. She loved the temple and attended frequently.
Over the years Mom was always by Dad's side supporting him. They worked together on their ranch in Farmington, raced championship horses throughout the intermountain west, enjoyed time at their house in St. George and travelling in their 5th wheel trailer.
Carlene is survived by her daughters Diana (James) McKee, Bountiful; Jeanne (Mark) Wagstaff, Centerville; Teri (Todd) Williams, Spring, Texas; and "son" Matt 'Biff' Robinson, Farmington; 17 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband J.B., parents, brothers Richard, Lyle and Keith, sister Ruth and great-grandchildren Glenn and Carlene 'Carly Jane'.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11am at the Centerville North Stake Park Ward Chapel, 1125 North 400 West, Centerville. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8pm at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and Monday from 9:30 -10:30 am at the church prior to services.
