Carol Haven

December 24, 1938 — October 22, 2014

Carol Louise Foulger Haven, age 75, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Lakeview hospital surrounded by her husband and children.
Carol was born on December 24, 1938 in Ogden, UT to Leland Wayne Foulger and Vivian Asenath Shaw, and was the oldest of two children.
Carol married her high school sweetheart, Theron Wilford Haven, on June 3, 1960, in Ogden, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple, performed by LeGrand Richard, on March 20, 1964. They were married for 54 years and are the proud parents of three children. They lived in Ogden until 1967 before moving to Bountiful, UT.
Carol worked at Hill Air Force Base as a secretary for five years, at the Internal Revenue Service as an Income Examiner for ten years, and at the Deseret News Agency as a District Sales Manger for 12 years.
Carol was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many callings including Sunday School Teacher, Visiting Teacher, and played beautifully as an organist and pianist in various meetings. Carol always felt blessed to have crocheted an alter cloth for the Bountiful Temple.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, piano, organ, studying, scriptures with family, yard work, cooking, and traveling around the world. As a mother, Carol showed her children great love, and taught them the value of education, hard work, and self reliance. She cherished every opportunity to share her testimony of the Gospel and taught by example.
Carol is survived by her husband, Theron Wilford Haven of Bountiful, UT; Terry Stewart (Joan) Haven of Kaysville, UT; Diena Haven of South Jordan, UT; and Scott Brian (Tamara) Haven of Kaysville, UT; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Vivian Foulger of Ogden, UT; brother, Larry Dean Foulger of Roy, UT; and grandson, Ty Neal Griffiths, (son of Diena Haven), of South Jordan, UT.
A viewing will be held Monday, October 27, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main St., Bountiful, UT 84010.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, at 10 a.m. at the North Canyon 4th Ward, 965 East Oakwood Dr., Bountiful, UT, 84010. An additional viewing will be held prior to the services from 9 – 9:45 a.m.
Interment at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
