Carol Janet Stoker Satchwell, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at home on March 18, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was honorably released from her mortal mission, having spent the last 20 years confined to her bed. She was born October 7, 1938, in Burley, Idaho to Herman and Minnie Stoker. She grew up in Burley, Idaho, where she attended Burley High School. She loved singing and also playing the violin. There she met Burton Satchwell, her high school sweetheart, who also loved music. They were married for time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple, August 16, 1957. They made their home in Bountiful, Utah, where Carol and Burton raised 4 daughters, and a son. Carol enjoyed family activities, sewing, crafts, and beautifying her home. She spent many late hours laboring over her beloved Bernina sewing machine crafting beautiful clothing for her family, friends, and others. Many have been blessed by her service. She was a dedicated wife and mother who spent many hours serving her family and neighbors. She took every opportunity to bear her testimony of Jesus Christ to her family. She is preceeded in death by her husband, Burton Satchwell. Carol is survived by her five children: Jana (Doug – deceased) McLachlan, Julia (Bruce) Johnson, Linda (Tim) Van de Merwe, Steve (Kristen) Satchwell, and Kaylin (Tony) Peters. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 22, at 11 a.m. at the Woods Cross Third Ward, 1450 S. 350 W. Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held on Monday, March 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, Utah and Tuesday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
