Carol Jean Harris Preece returned to her loving Heavenly Father, Tuesday, January 2, 2018. She passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family.
Carol was born October 24, 1936 to Wilford and Mary Harris in Ogden, Utah. She graduated from Ogden High in 1954, attended Weber State University, and shortly after married Teddy Delbert Preece in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, September 1, 1955.
She was employed by Litton Aerospace and Deluxe Check Printers. While she enjoyed her employment, she was completely devoted to raising her five children. She loved nothing more than being together as a family – whether it was skiing, camping, boating or vacationing at the beach.
Carol loved seeing that her children and grandchildren were happy, active and having fun. She loved her life and was an avid recorder of her family history, through scrapbooks and journals. She was strong willed with a positive, funny and outgoing personality. She loved interacting and conversing with those around her. She was an excellent listener.
Carol often spoke of her good neighbors and life long friends, whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her five children: Jeffrey Ted Preece, Curtis Wilford Preece (Carmen), Craig Delbert Preece (Shelley), Todd Mitchell Preece, and Michelle Wayment (Linn); siblings: Norene Matheny, Barbara Lutz, and Steve Harris; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ted, brother Ronald, and granddaughters, Jessica and Marnell Preece and Olivia Leany.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Sterling Heights Ward, 191 West Monarch Dr., Bountiful, where a viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
The family would like to express appreciation to Rocky Mountain Care and their staff for the tender care they gave to our mother.
