Our beloved mother, Carol Drechsel Jensen, returned to her Heavenly Father on March 29, 2014 at the age of 79 due to a heart attack. Carol was born January 17, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Hyrum and Flora Drechsel. She was the oldest living of eight children. Carol was raised on a farm in West Salt Lake, commonly known as Lake Breeze, and attended West High School. She married Lynn Hazen Jensen on August 20, 1954. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she valiantly fulfilled her lifes mission by supporting her husband, strengthening her family and serving faithfully in many church callings. Carol particularly enjoyed going to the Salt Lake Temple and Bountiful Temple to perform ordinance work.
She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, caring sister and a great friend to all who knew her. Carol, having raised several dogs and numerous cats, had a great love for all animals, especially her horse, Studley and dog, Niko. She loved music, reading and gardening and well into her later years, horseback riding.
She is survived by her son, Lane Hazen Jensen (Gayle); daughter, Patti Jensen; and very special grandson, Luke A. Jensen; brothers, Alan (Valerie) Drechsel and Bruce (Judy) Drechsel; sisters, Gay (Lennie) Michelson and Susan Drechsel; sister-in-law, Marilyn Drechsel; many nieces and nephews; and a very dear friend, Cindy Jensen.
