Carol Dawn Oswald

November 11, 1950 — October 12, 2024

Carol Dawn Oswald, age 73 years, died October 12, 2024 after a short but valiant battle with cancer

Carol Dawn was born in Rigby, Idaho, on Armistice Day, November 11, 1950. Her parents were Lowell DeWayne Oswald and Neva Jean Price Oswald. She was the oldest child in the family, an example to her younger brothers and sisters, and well loved.

Carol Dawn played the violin, organ and piano. She played in orchestras, including the BYU Symphony Orchestra, and performed musically. She was an accompanist in Primary, Relief Society, and an organist for choirs. She did really well academically, and excelled in many subjects. She was hard working and a wonderful friend.

After getting her college degree, she became a librarian, then she taught school, and eventually got a Masters Degree in educational Psychology, and then a PhD in instructional Science. She was talented with computer skills and enjoyed family history work. She devoted her time to the creation of three books of history, The Oswald-Fife Family, The Price-Judy Family, and Judy Ancestors. She has since compiled and gathered many family history books and genealogy sources for her family's genealogy. Her sources for these records were family, relatives, books from university libraries, the Church Historical Department and Genealogical Society.

She was a part time pianist for the Christiansen Ballet School, and taught at Rose Park Elementary, and Backman Elementary. She became a computer specialist at the schools where she worked. She worked at Parkview Elementary, and at the Bountiful Davis Art Center as an administrative Assistant and she did so much more.

Carol enjoyed the beauties of the earth, various hobbies, cross stitching, knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She loved her pet cats. She was an example to her younger brothers and sisters in so many ways. We love our Carol.

Carol Dawn leaves behind her sisters and brothers: Roseanne Partridge(Brian), Lola Jean Galloway (Jeff), Lowell K, Oswald (Laurie), Mark Russell Oswald (Beverly), Joan Michele Gunnell (Mitch), Pamela Dee Conrad, Paul DeWayne Oswald, Douglas James Oswald ( Angela), Bryce William Oswald, and Judy Lynn Brandon (Kelly). She also leaves behind many nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Lakeview Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Dr., Bountiful, Utah.

  • God's Garden by Melissa Shreve
  • God looked around his garden and found an empty place
  • He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face
  • He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest
  • With the help of his angels they flew you to your heavenly place
  • Gods garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best
  • He knew you were suffering, he knew you were in pain
  • He knew that you would never get well on Earth again
  • He saw the road was getting rough and the hills too hard to climb
  • He closed your weary eyelids and whispered "Peace be Thine"
  • It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone
  • For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
