Carol Porter

May 17, 1922 — February 11, 2013

Carol Gwen Porter (Booth), passed away on February 11th 2013. She was born May 17, 1922, in St Anthony Idaho to Frank B. and Grace Williams Porter. She lived her early childhood in Downey Idaho, later moving to Salt Lake City, Utah, with her family. Married Avard W. Booth on July 2nd, 1948. Later divorced.
As a young woman she was active in entertainment fields, both dancing and comedy. She was also a talented artist in portrait and landscape. Many of her works have been on gallery display. She was a member of the LDS. Church, serving as drama director in various wards and stakes over a span of 30 years. In her later years she worked at Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy as a legal secretary, retiring after 22 years of service.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Booth Chamberlain and her children: Casey, Tiffany and Minda. Also survived by her son, Chadwick Booth and his children: Kira and Maggie, along with five great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and only sister, Alese P. Rudd.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 16th at 12:00 PM in the Orchard 13rd Ward, 261 East Center Street, North Salt Lake. Friends may call prior to the service on the 16th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the ward house.
