Carole Joan Higginson Stewart

Carole Joan Higginson Stewart passed away in the early morning hours Wednesday, November 14, 2018 after fighting a long battle with cancer.  Joan was born on July 31, 1934 to LeGrande J. Higginson and Melva Pearl Kay Higginson.  She married her sweetheart Donald Harry Stewart on September 25, 1953 and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

Joan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many ways including serving as first counselor of the South Davis area special need’s primary for thirty years.  She worked 20 years for Davis County School District as a school lunch manager.

She is survived by daughters Pauline (Elvin) Jackson of Santa Clara, UT and Linda of Farmington, UT, sons Donald Jr (Laurie) of Farmington, UT, Dale (Laura) of Washington, UT and Douglas (Loretta) of Layton, UT, 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.  Siblings Colleen (Gaylord) Patten of West Covina, CA, Kay Higginson of Santaquin, UT, Dean (Jayne Ann) Higginson of Mesquite, NV, Artis Calloway, of  Santaquin, UT, Jill (Lynn) Carter of Payson, UT, and sister-in-law, Jeanne Higginson of Lakewood, CO.  She is preceded in death by her loving Husband Donald Harry, Parents, LeGrande and Melva Higginson, sister, Mary (Bryce) Wing, brother, Joseph (Connie) Higginson, brother-in-law Walter Callaway, brothers, Dennis (Claudia) Higginson, Lynn Jay Higginson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11AM at the Farmington Stake Center (347 South 200 West Farmington). There will be a viewing at Russon Mortuary (1941 North Main Farmington) November 16 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and a viewing at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 prior to services.
