Carolyn Barlow Low passed away peacefully on July 25, 2015 in her home that she loved and found so much joy in. Carolyn was born on Sunday, November 16, 1941 to loving and devoted parents, Eldon Hogan and Golda Burningham Barlow, whom she adored. She was the middle child between two brothers, Wayne Kenneth and Steven Eldon Barlow. She was raised in Clearfield, Utah. She learned how to play the piano as a child. Those early years of music training came at great sacrifice to her parents but shaped her life forever after. She had many fond memories of her childhood years especially her "Daddy's" store.
Carolyn met the love of her life, Alan Taylor Low at "dear old Davis High School." They graduated together in 1960. Alan and Carolyn were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 12, 1964. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family; this year marking 51 devoted years together. Alan and Carolyn made their home in Woods Cross, Utah living in the same home for over 47 years. It was there that they raised daughters Lisa Michelle and Lezlee Ann.
Carolyn devoted her life to church, family and friends. Voted at Weber State as "Most Friendly on Campus," she was known and loved by many for her sunny disposition, friendly smile, and loving ways. Carolyn was musically talented and devoted much time to playing the organ. She was in high demand for funerals and church meetings as her medleys of loved one's favorite hymns touched many hearts. She loved good music, especially sacred hymns, and played them with tender emotion that was felt by many. She served faithfully in church auxiliaries including Young Women's, Primary and Relief Society, but was mostly known as the Ward Organist serving for over 27 years. Carolyn spent many happy years working for the Bountiful Water Subconservancy District. She worked as a secretary to the manager for over 26 years. She made lifelong friends with the other employees. They loved the fresh filled candy jar she kept on her desk. After retiring Carolyn served as the Chairwoman of the Woods Cross City Senior Citizen "Lunch Bunch" providing a monthly luncheon and entertainment. She loved writing poetry and entertained the seniors each month with a witty fun-loving poem.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon Hogan Barlow and Golda Burningham Barlow of Clearfield Utah. She is survived by brothers Wayne Kenneth Barlow (Madeline) of Providence Utah and Steven Eldon Barlow (Lana) of Bountiful, Utah; daughters, Lisa Michelle Low Rigby (David) of Boise, Idaho and Lezlee Ann Low Hatch (Brian) of Mapleton, Utah; grandchildren Brandon David Rigby, Rachel Lynne Rigby, Michael Eldon Rigby, Trevor Brian Hatch, Logan Taylor Hatch and Connor Michael Hatch; sister-in-law Lori Ann Holbrook Walker (Dick) of Bountiful and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved and cared for.
