Carolyn Dawn Holmes

Carolyn Dawn Holmes, beloved wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend returned to her Heavenly Father on February 8, 2017 at the age of 78 years old. Her mind and body could no longer tolerate the constant pain and she chose her mom’s birthday as the day to return home.  Carolyn was born on June 10, 1938 in Park City, Utah to Robert Earl Wall and Gay Mignon Gidley. She was the oldest of their 5 children.   She lived in Park City for 5 years and then the family moved to Country Club Drive in Ogden. She graduated from Weber High in May of 1956 and married the love of her life Sherman Holmes on October 16, 1956 in the Logan LDS temple. She was a lady of many talents and enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and camping. She showered us with unconditional love and support and was the best listener ever. Spending time with her family was the most important thing to her. She was a faithful member of the Bountiful 27th Ward where she has served in many callings.

She is survived by her children, Melanie (Brett) Frasier, Brent Holmes, Jeff (Stacy)Holmes, and Blake Holmes.  7 grandchildren- Megan, Heidi, Chelsea, Cassie, Nicole, Ty and Kira and 11 great-grandchildren. Carolyn was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Sherm, twin sons, Bruce and Boyd, her parents and many other loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday February 13, 2017 at the Bountiful 27th ward, 1145 No 200 East.  A viewing will be held on Sunday evening, February 12, from 6 to 8 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street and Monday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 at the church prior to the services. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
