Carolyn Cundick Nelson

Our loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Carolyn Cundick Nelson, 85, passed away December 30, 2024, in Bountiful, Utah.

Carolyn was born on November 24, 1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Morris and Bertha Cundick. She graduated from South High School in 1957 and attended one year at Brigham Young University. Carolyn worked at Beneficial Life Insurance, JCPenney and Wells Fargo Bank where she retired in 2005.

Carolyn married Steven Secrist Nelson on August 27, 1970, in the Salt Lake Temple. They honeymooned in Europe for 6 weeks following their wedding. They made their home in Centerville, Utah, where they raised four wonderful children.

Carolyn was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a missionary in the Northern States Mission. Carolyn also served in various church callings in Relief Society, Young Women’s and Primary. She was kind to everyone she was around and quietly served them in a Christ-like way.

Carolyn enjoyed cooking, decorating, creating and sewing. She spent many hours designing and sewing dance costumes and dresses for her three daughters. She loved her family and diligently served them.

She is survived by her husband Steven and four children: Jennifer (Brad) Page, Steven (Morgan) Nelson, Stephanie (Stephen) Cable, and Carlynn (Tyler) James. She has 17 grandchildren with a great-grandchild coming Spring 2025.

We love you and will miss you until we meet again.

We would like to express our deep appreciation to Legacy House of Bountiful (the Cottage), Inspiration Home Health and Hospice, and to all those who lovingly cared for Carolyn the last 17 months of her life.

Family and friends may visit from 6:00–8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, at the Ricks Creek Chapel, 1475 North 50 East in Centerville, Utah. Family and friends may visit from 9:45–10:45 a.m. Monday at the church prior to the funeral.
