Carrie Ward

August 8, 1944 — February 28, 2014

Carrie passed away peacefully during her sleep at her home in Kaysville, UT on the morning of Friday, February 28, 2014, just 20 days after the passing of her beloved husband Al. So quickly have they been joined together again for all eternity.

She was born on August 8, 1944, in Great Falls, Montana to her father William Kent Houskeeper and her mother Mary Helen Blackburn.

She was married to Alvin Clifford Ward on August 29, 1964 in Dragerton, Utah. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple.

To them were born Cathy Aleen Ward, Alan Carl Ward, Caren Annette Jones (Brian), and Alexander Craig Ward. Al and Carrie were blessed with five grandchildren: JD Ward, Nicholas Alexander Ward, Joshua Henry Ward, Kaiden William Ward, and Avery Maryann Jones and one great granddaughter: Avery Lee Ward.

She is survived by her loving children: Cathy, Alan, Caren, and Alex, and her grandchildren and great granddaughter, her mother Mary Helen Blackburn, her sister Kathryn and her brothers Gary and Karl.

She was preceded in death by her husband Al, and her father William Kent Houskeeper.

Carrie completed her education at LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. After raising her four children she had a successful career at Questar. Her greatest joy was in being a mother to her children and later as a grandmother to her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family. They brought much joy and happiness into her life. She will be dearly missed by all.

With her husband at her side, they enjoyed many vacations together. Her husband’s greatest joy was providing Carrie with vacations to Hawaii, her favorite place. She enjoyed working outdoors in her flower gardens, Al had his vegetable garden and she beautified the yard with her flowers.
