Carrol Preece

Carrol Wheeler Preece, age 74, passed away in the early morning of Tuesday, December 6, 2011 following a three year battle with a rare blood cancer.

Carrol was born July 2, 1937, the baby daughter of Simon and Luella Hodges Wheeler in Lewiston, Utah. She married Lynn Ray Preece May 28, 1955, solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple December 13, 1980. This union was blessed with seven children; Sharon Ball, Raymond (Jan), Terry (Kris), Mark (Yvonne), Ellen Willis (Lon), Brad (Claudia) and Brent (Wendy), 22 grandchildren and 13 12 great grandchildren, all who survive her. Her greatest joy was her family.

We will miss the Sunday night get togethers and sitting on the porch of the recreation property laughing and talking. Mom loved these times very much. Her family was her life, she would even sit through a football game if it meant she could be with them.

She enjoyed serving in her various callings in the Ward and Stake from which she gained lifelong friendships. She had a great love for music and led the music for many years.

Mom is also survived by her sisters Sybil Nielsen and Elma Atkin (George). Sister-in-law Opal Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Wayne.

A viewing will be held Friday December 9th at Russon Brothers Mortuary 295 North Main, Bountiful Utah from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be on Saturday December 10, 2011 at 12:00 pm at the Orchard 4th Ward, 55 East 350 North, North Salt Lake, Utah, where family and friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 for a viewing before the services.
