Carston Lehi Talbot

March 12, 2004 — August 11, 2023

Carston was born in Ogden, Utah on March 12, 2004, to parents Leland Talbot and Jenny Talbot (Berghout). He is loved and sorely missed by his family; siblings, (Keith) Jessica Grover, Matthew (Danielle), Brecken, and Alexis. Nieces Vera & Ella and nephew Erik. Grandparents: Steven & Elaine Talbot and Floyd & Sheryn Berghout.

Carston has been the center of our family and has taught us so much more than we ever could have taught him.  Being confined to a wheelchair all of his life did not stop us from taking him on each of our adventures including the National Parks of Utah, Yellowstone’s Lower Falls, and the countless back country trails or theme parks. Whether a wheelchair trail was available or not we scrambled over rock and crevasse to make sure he could see the view and enjoy the experience.

He loved to dance with his siblings, rocking his wheelchair to the point of tipping it over and standing with their help. Although he never spoke a word, he wanted everyone to hear his voice. His sweet spirit spoke volumes. Those that listened learned how to express unconditional love. He loved to yell and laugh at home, at church and on the school bus. Carston’s love for music was great and you never caught him without his favorite toy in his hand. Carston taught his family to love, be patient, have kindness and how to push up hill.

Though his life was short, he fought every step of the way conquering every challenge. In his passing moments he showed the strength of his spirit. The Lord called him home to be with his sister, great grand-parents and passed loved ones. Carston, we love you, and hope to be reunited with you to hear your sweet voice, to see you run and do all those things that you couldn’t do in life to be forever in our arms again.

We want to express our gratitude for the numerous medical workers, special needs instructors, therapists and friends that have loved and supported him throughout his life. We are grateful for the love and care the CNS hospice team has shown Carston in his final months.
