Carter Eugene Martinez

September 28, 2023 — November 20, 2023

Our perfect baby boy, Carter Eugene Martinez, returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, November 20 after his little heart stopped beating.

Carter was born on Thursday, September 28 at 8:32 p.m., twelve minutes before his twin brother and best buddy Cannon. Both boys are perfect and such a blessing. They completed our family in the best way. Their parents, siblings and all their family members are so in love.

Carter was such a happy baby and could always be comforted by his mommy holding him tight and snuggling him to sleep. He was the best little snuggle buddy.

Dad was so excited to see him grow, play and become a part of the team. He spent lots of time holding and snuggling Carter and as they watched dad's favorite teams play on TV.

He immediately learned how much his brothers and sister loved him. They were constantly holding, hugging, kissing and loving him. There was never a moment when he didn’t have someone wanting to be with him.

A few weeks after Carter was born, we learned he had a heart defect. His mom and dad then had the opportunity to spend some special time in the hospital with him holding him, snuggling him, singing to him and helping him know how much we loved him. As much as we prayed, hoped, cried and sought help from doctors, his little heart just couldn’t do it anymore.

The day of Carter’s passing will be a day that we will never forget. We tried so hard to keep him with us and hoped and hoped that he could stay with his family because we need him so much.

During his short time with us, Carter changed our family forever. While we don’t know how we’ll ever recover, we will always be thankful for the special time he was with us and will remember him forever and ever. We have hope that peace will come through the Savior Jesus Christ and we can feel His love for us.

We are so thankful for all those who have loved, served, cried, helped and been with us since his passing. We could have never survived without such an outpouring of love.

Carter is survived by his parents, Nate and Jessica; sister Reese; and brothers Hayden, Jake, Cordon and Cannon. He is also survived by his grandparents John and Jerrilyn Gardiner and Eugene and Cindy Martinez; Great Grandma Frances Martinez; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Carter, we love you more than words could ever say and miss you every day more than you’ll ever know. Please take care of us and stay close by so we can feel your love with us. We're thankful that families can be together forever and we can’t wait to see you again. We love you little buddy!!
