Casey R.A. Smith

Bountiful, UT  –  Our loving father, husband, son, and brother Casey Smith passed away at home on August 24, 2019 at the age of 44. Casey was born August 17, 1975 in Ogden, UT to Ronald Ames Smith and Patricia Toly Smith. He attended Northridge High School, played basketball for Salt Lake Community College, and played golf for Weber State University, where he received his MBA.

Casey served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Canada, Calgary mission from 1992-1994. He met his wife Jodi on a blind date. They were married on March 9, 2001 in the Salt Lake City LDS temple.

Casey loved his family tremendously. He was a devoted husband and father. He loved spending time with his children and sharing his love for sports and the gospel. He was very athletic and active and while he loved all sports, golf and basketball were his favorites. Casey loved people and was extremely kind and generous to all he met. His smile and enthusiasm will be greatly missed. Casey loved being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had great faith and love for the Savior Jesus Christ. He served in many capacities in the church always honoring his priesthood and fulfilling his duties with all his heart. He touched so many lives with his service.

Casey is survived by his parents R. A. and Pat Smith; his wife, Jodi Wilson Smith; his in-laws, Sam and Mindy Wilson; his children, Hallie (17), Olivia (15), Luke (12), Lincoln (11), Emma (7), and Bo (4); and his brothers, Brooks (Melissa), Gabe (Adriana), and Bronson (Linsey).  

A viewing will be held Tuesday, August 27th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 28th at 11:00 am, viewing from 9:30-10:30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Mueller Park Chapel, 1800 East Mueller Park Road, Bountiful, Utah.
