Jean died peacefully on August 21, 2015 at the age of 81. She was born on August 18, 1934 to Mildred and Melvin B. Allred in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Jean graduated from South High in 1952, and attended Henager’s Business College for one year. She married Jerome W. Kimbrell on October 2, 1954 in Salt Lake City. They were sweethearts at the Grand Canyon – North Rim, and continued to be for 61 years together on earth. Their marriage was later sealed in the Bountiful Utah Temple on January 8, 2005. They were the parents of 4 sons; Eddie Dean, Michael Alan (Sandy), Kevin Ray, and Larry Wade.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Eddie Dean and Larry Wade. She is survived by her husband Jerome, sons Michael Alan, Kevin Ray, 2 sisters, Kaye (Don), Connie (Larry), 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In Jean’s early childhood, she loved to ride horses on her grandfather’s farm in Roosevelt. She loved the outdoors, camping, and cooking. She loved to travel. She participated in arts, crafts and ceramics, and made beautiful ceramic pieces.
Jean loved to decorate our home on her two favorite holidays – Thanksgiving and Christmas, cooking special holiday meals for her family. She loved her children and her husband dearly. She was a very loving, caring person and compassionate person, that no one can deny. Jean was a big Jazz fan, watched all the Jazz games on TV. Jean had a great deal of patience with her family.
Jean was an active member of the LDS church. Family would like to thank all of the nurses and aids of North Canyon Care Center and St. Mark’s Hospital, who comforted Jean in her time of need. A special thanks to “Nancy” at St. Mark’s Hospital for her compassionate and loving care of the family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Orchard 3rd Ward, 261 East Center Street, North Salt Lake. A viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, August 28, 2015, and prior to the services at the church from 10:00 – 10:45 am. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery.
