Catherine Linschoten

May 17, 1932 — March 19, 2013

Catherine Linschoten, age 80, passed away Tuesday afternoon March 19, 2013 following a stroke. Born May 17, 1932 in Salt Lake City to Robert and Ina Cameron. Married Eldon Keith Linschoten on July 10, 1950. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Cathie was a life long member of the LDS Church and served in many callings throughout her life – she especially enjoyed singing in the choir.
Cathie graduated from South High School and attended the University of Utah, where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She worked several years for the Auerbach Company, where she also did some modeling. Active in civic affairs, she served as President of William Penn PTA and was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneer’s Society.
Mom loved spending time with her family and was an avid reader who enjoyed a good book, movie, football game and fine food. Cathie was truly one-of-a-kind, whose stories were always larger than life.
Survived by her two sons: Jim (Laurie) and Clint (Rolayne); six grandchildren: Scott (Laura), Chris (Maria), Jen (Brian), Ryan (Emily), Mike (Ashley) and Corey (Karli) and seven great-grandchildren; Sister: Carolyn (Gerald). Preceded in death by her husband Eldon, parents and brother (Bob).
The family wishes to express deep appreciation to those at IHC Hospital and Care Source Hospice who showed such kindness and loving care to Cathie. Many thanks also to friends and neighbors, especially Leslee & Joe Christensen, who extended much friendship and assistance to Mom over the years.
