Charlene Jean Evensen Caldwell

Charlene Jean Evensen Caldwell born January 17th 1930, Passed away surrounded by her family on January 2nd 2019. She was the 1st of 5 children born to Eva Viola and Milford Leroy Evensen. She married Blaine Owen Caldwell on June 4th 1951, and was later sealed in the Idaho Falls temple, June 4th, 1965. Blaine and Charlene were dedicated to each other and their family. They enjoyed many activities together with their family including camping, swimming in the family pool, and many BBQ's together. Charlene excelled in the restaurant business where she held positions as prep cook, assistant manager, and manger. She was known for making many cakes, cheesecake, and other deserts from scratch. This carried home to her family who would have many family parties and dinners together eating these creations. Charlene was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she had a very strong testimony of her savior. She was a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She served in many callings in the church and loved being able to help teach and guide the youth.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband (Blaine), her mother and father, and two brothers (Norman and DeMar). She is survived by her 5 children: Sherry Day, Shauna (Reno) Blackburn, Marc (Joan) Caldwell, Bart (Melissa) Caldwell, and Kelma Caldwell; her brothers, Paul (Bonnie) and Gary (Carla) Evensen. She had 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 at the Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, 3401 South Highland Dr., Salt Lake City.
