Charles Britton Bergeson, age 90, passed away August 24, 2008 peacefully at his home. Born September 8, 1917 in Glendale, Alberta, Canada, son of Arthur and Marietta Pond Bergeson. Raised in Calgary, Canada until the age of 18, when his family relocated to Lewiston, Utah. Jointed Anderson Lumber and worked there for over 50 years. While in Lewiston met and fell in love with his eternal companion Aina Biggs and married her on October 17, 1941 in the Logan LDS Temple. Brit was a proud patriot of his country, while serving in Germany he was awarded the Bronze Star for Meritorious Achievement against the enemy. He loved to watch and play Ice Hockey. After moving from Canada to Lewiston he played for the Logan Utah Hockey Team, and was a devoted fan of the Salt Lake Golden Eagles. He loved to play golf, enjoyed going dancing and working in his yard. He served many years in the Salt Lake and Bountiful Temples with his beloved wife, Aina. He will be remembered by his friends and family for his wisdom and his unselfish love. Survived by his wife, Aina Bergeson; daughter Ann Larry Beckwith, Fresno, CA; son, Glenn Clara Bergeson, Riverton, UT; daughter, Nancy Tom Joerger, Colorado Springs, CO; son, Kevin Renee Bergeson, North Salt Lake, UT; and his sister, Margaret Livingston, Clearfield, UT; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Roland, Leon, and Omar Bergeson; sister, LaRue Bergeson; and grandson, Stephen Bergeson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the Bountiful 37th Ward Chapel, 1540 North 400 East, Bountiful, Utah. Friends and family may call Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Thursday morning 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West.
