Charles Joseph Bowen (Chuck), 67, passed away on Sunday March 25, 2012, surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer. He was born July 5, 1944 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Florence Elvira Westerberg and Wallace Simmons Bowen, the youngest of 4 children. He married Judith Ann Faler in the Salt Lake Temple on September 16, 1966. They raised 5 children.
Chuck grew up in Idaho and Utah and graduated from Bountiful High. He served as a missionary in the North British Mission. He joined the Army Reserves and was later employed as a Police Officer for Bountiful City. He spent much of his career with ATK before retiring in 2010.
Chuck had an outgoing personality and loved to talk to everyone, hoping to brighten all he met. He enjoyed family gatherings, caring for neighbors, fishing, road-trips, wood working, and BYU football. He especially loved working at the Bountiful Temple and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survived by his wife of 46 years, Judy; children: Dale (Corinne) Bowen, Vienna, VA; Wade (Michelle) Bowen, Kaysville; Debra (Randal) Devlin, Scottsbluff, NE; Shana (Michael) Judkins, Syracuse; Lori Ann (Bryan) Brezoff, Tooele; and 23 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Kay and Gordon, his oldest child Tamera, and granddaughter Abigail.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at noon in the Bountiful 21st Ward Chapel, 115 East Wicker Lane (2000 So.), Bountiful, Utah. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful and at the church Thursday one hour prior to the services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
