Charles Bushman Clark, age 71, passed away at his beloved home on Oct. 28, 2013. Born Dec. 20, 1941 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Ellsworth Marion and Dorothy Smith Clark, the 5th of 9 children. He grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High School in 1960. As a youth he had a talent and love in working with electronics and also enjoyed caring for animals.
He served an LDS mission to the Northern States, serving mostly in the Chicago area. As a recently returned missionary, Sally Ruth Tennant noticed Charles at White Park in Salt Lake City and stated, Thats a guy I want to date. After a 2-year courtship, they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Nov. 24, 1965 and lived in Salt Lake City. Charles attended the University of Utah and graduated with a B.S. in Geography and History in 1968.
Charles and Sally became the proud parents of 9 children, 8 boys and one girl. They raised their children in their Farmington home built by pioneer ancestor, Ezra T. Clark. Charles worked professionally in real estate and teaching. He retired from Bonneville High School in 2010 after 22 years in teaching courses in social studies, electronics and health occupations. He had a curious nature and passion for learning and teaching.
He served faithfully in multiple church callings, was involved in his High Priest group leadership, served as an instructor, Scoutmaster, temple worker, and home teacher. He did selfless errands to serve his family, friends, and neighbors. He volunteered much of his time to youth and leaders in the Boy Scouts of America and was civically engaged. His hobbies included electronics, ham radio, singing, hobby farming, gardening, yard care, camping, and family history.
Survived by his wife, Sally, of 48 years and 9 children: Spencer (Jennifer), Kaysville; Matthew, Pasadena, CA; Richard (Holly), Cedar City; Loren, Kaysville; Nathan (Stephanie), Clinton; Andrew (Megan), Layton; Kimball (Erin), Kaysville; Stuart, Clearfield; Sarah Erb (Stevie), Salt Lake City. He has 17 grandchildren. Proceeded in death by Ellsworth and Dorothy (parents), Robert (brother), and Eli Connor Clark and George Kimball Clark (grandsons).
Funeral services: Sat., Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. in the Rock Chapel, Farmington 3rd Ward, 272 N. Main. Viewing: Fri., 6-8 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N. Main, Farmington and Sat., 9:30-10:45 am at the Rock Chapel prior to services. Interment: Farmington City Cemetery.
