Charlotte Cox, 87, of Orem, UT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2020. Born to George and Ada (Jensen) Magnuson of Castle Dale, UT, Charlotte was the second of two daughters. Charlotte loved her family and found her greatest joy in visiting with her children and grandchildren. The daughters of a rancher, as young girls she and her sister drove a hundred head of cattle by themselves across the San Rafael Desert to Range Creek. As a young woman, she played the snare drum in the high school band, was an accomplished barrel racer and later a rodeo queen attendant. She also played the piano. Charlotte was an excellent cook and seamstress, providing many beautiful and creative things for her family over the years. She loved playing games with her family and was especially good at having a good time during those games, no matter how the scores looked. Her family will especially miss her great sense of humor.
Charlotte earned an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science while her children were still growing up. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and supported her husband through his many leadership callings. She also served in many callings, building faith in others and in herself as she did so. In her later years, she served in the temple on a weekly basis.
Charlotte was married to Merrill W. Cox, later divorced, and is survived by six children: Collin Cox (Patty), Merilyn Hammond (Wayne), Kathleen Youngberg (John), Mark Cox (Tammy), Brian Cox (Regina), and Carolyn Cox (Jerry Silver); 20 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, her sister Roma (Gordon) Thomas and one sister-in-law Diana (Don) Cox. She is preceded in death by her parents.
All services will be held at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary where friends may visit Monday evening, August 31 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM, or on Tuesday morning, September 1st, prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM with interment in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
