Charlotte Ida Pickhardt Thornton

This earth lost a wonderful person on June 4, 2023. Charlotte was born in Evanston, Wyoming March 13, 1931, to Walter and Mabel Pickhardt.

Charlotte graduated from Evanston High School in 1950, where she lettered as a Pepster on the cheerleading squad. She had a horse named Whiskey and a dog named Rover that she loved and missed her whole life. Char was a lifeguard at the local pool and tore up the town with her friends.

Charlotte married Thomas Thornton in 1953, and later divorced. She lived in MT, ID, CA but resided most of her life in SLC, UT. She had four children: first born Andrew Thornton, estranged daughter Kathleen Wood, her sunshine boy Carl Thornton, and devoted, loving daughter Christine Burnham (Lonnie). She also had four grandchildren: Tom Wood, Ty Thornton, Tanner Thornton, and Madison Burnham.

Charlotte had lovely vegetable gardens and loved woodworking. She was a heck of a handyman/woman and could fix almost anything. She loved playing and reading with her grandchildren and had a great sense of humor.

Charlotte is very loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by Tom Wood, Andrew Thornton, her life companion Buddy Lopez, and her little dogs Scotty and Buffy.

At Charlotte’s request, there will be no services. She will be laid to rest in Evanston, Wyoming.
