Cheri Lynne Godfrey Argyle

Cheri Lynne Godfrey Argyle passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019, surrounded by her family after fighting a brief bout with pneumonia. Cheri grew up in Bountiful, Utah and graduated from Bountiful High School in 1977. Cheri was passionate about doing hair and loved being a hair dresser. She graduated from Cosmetology School in 1976 and continued to care for other’s hair until her health robbed her of that ability. Cheri was an accomplished swimmer and participated in synchronized swimming.

Cheri married her sweetheart and best friend, Michael Argyle, on March 4, 1977, before graduating high school.  They grew up together, while raising their four sons. Cheri was a lifelong friend to all. She had a heart of gold and a way of making everyone feel special and loved. Cheri’s love extended to animals, as there never was an animal she did not try to save.

Cheri loved to run and hike. When she was unable to continue those activities, she loved to ride her trike around the Riverdale trail and in Mesquite during the winter months.

Cheri loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and shared her testimony with everyone. She was proud to serve in her church callings. After her health declined, she treasured having the spirit of the sacrament brought to her home every week. She found it hard to accept service, but Cheri appreciated the love and support of her many friends and family over the years.

Cheri is survived by the love of her life Michael, her sons Darin (Ashley), Devin (Arin), Danny (Ashley), her parents Elaine and Steve Godfrey, her mother-in-law Marline Argyle, her grandchildren (Zack, Amber, Bronson, Paisley, Taylee, Arabella, Leo, and Clara). She was preceded in death by her son Dustin, sister Kathi, father-in-law Leo, and many adopted animals.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 6th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon  Mortuary located at 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, UT 84010. The funeral will be held on Thursday, February 7th at 11:00 a.m., with a brief viewing prior from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the Riverdale Stake Center located at 4000 S. Parker Drive, Riverdale, UT 84405.
