Cherie St. John

November 24, 1965 — February 28, 2013

Bountiful, Utah
Cherie Cable St. John left this life at her home, surrounded by her family on 28 February 2013 after a four-year battle with cancer. Cherie was the daughter of Wayne and Claudine Cable. She married Kari St. John on 12 June 1992 in the Salt Lake Temple. Kari and Cherie had four children, Katelyn (19), Spencer (16), Hayden (14) and Paige (12). Her husband and children were the center of her universe. She loved her family, including her in-laws, Jim and Bonnie St. John and their family.

Cherie graduated from Bountiful High School and attended BYU majoring in English. Her employment included being the Human Resources Director/Office Manager for Capsoft; Event Planner for a her own corporation, CK Events; and Reading Specialist at Oak Hills Elementary School. However, her dedication and focus was always on her children and home. Cherie was the ultimate soccer mom and would sacrifice anything for her four children. Her courage, optimism and sense of humor were a delight to all. She easily made friends and valued them all. She loved dogs and her boxer, Jasmine, was devoted to her.

Cherie’s faith never waivered through all the trials of her life. At the end she was fully at peace for she had indeed placed her life in the hands of her Father in Heaven and knew that all things would work for her good. One of her favorite quotes was by Elder Jeffery R. Holland, “Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don’t come until Heaven. But for those who embrace the Gospel of Jesus Christ they come.”

Cherie is survived by her parents, grandmother Dawn Mangum, sisters Julie (Tom) Uriona, Chantel (Dave) Markel and Kim (Steven) Parker, her husband and children and many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. Cherie will be deeply missed.
