Cheryl Ann East Ferrin born 14 April 1943, returned to her heavenly home April 17, 2023 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Cheryl was born to Charles Roy and Lucille Halliday East in Bountiful Utah, the first of 8 children.
Most of her childhood was spent in Bountiful, Utah where she made life-long friendships.
Cheryl was a lover of life and a lover of people. You sat next to her, stood in line behind her, or had something in common with her and you had an instant friend. She was thoughtful and loved to remember birthdays and unbirthdays alike.
She graduated from Bountiful High School in 1961 and shortly thereafter married her eternal companion, Spencer J Ferrin on June 30, 1961. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake temple June 4, 1962. Spencer and Cheryl had 5 children Kellie (Benjamin) Munoz, J Grant (Michelle) Ferrin, Lori (Jerry) Barton, Russell (Jill) Ferrin and Tony (Debbie)Ferrin. They have 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Cheryl loved her family, she held "Family Home Sundays", pie night, Christmas bingo and annual wood cutting outings to keep her family close. She loved to be with her grandchildren watching ball games, supporting dance competitions, attending music concerts, making suckers and sugar cookies, and having grandma sleep overs.
Cheryl was patriotic and loved working for Hill Air Force Base and the legislature.
Cheryl was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved to attend the temple.
She had many callings, but loved most those that provided her the opportunity to work with the youth and children. Many today have wonderful memories of Sister Ferrin as their scout, young women, or activity days leader. She even earned her Silver Beaver award.
Cheryl is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and 6 siblings Charles McKay East, Lillian Nelson, Tom East, Dawn Marie Piliu, Hollie Horne, and Joy Burch.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Spencer J Ferrin (05/27/2003), her parents, and her younger sister Jennie Lynne East.
