Cheryl Vee Hales

June 4, 1930 — January 13, 2014

Woods Cross: Cheryl Vee Larsen Hales (83) passed away on January 13, 2014 at home, of a recently diagnosed stomach cancer. Cheryl was born, June 4, 1930, in Manti, Utah, to Charles Ruel and Vonda Sanderson Larsen. She grew up in Salina, Utah. She married her high school sweetheart, Pryce Nielson Hales, on June 5, 1950, in the Manti Temple. She was the wonderful mother of three sons and one daughter. Cheryl was an accomplished pianist, playing for her high school music groups and numerous others over the years. She taught piano lessons in her home and as a valiant member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, nearly all of her callings to serve were as an organist or pianist. She also served as a Laurel teacher, RS Counselor, RS President and was a member of the DUP. At times, she worked out of the home as a bookkeeper, but her greatest job was as a wife and mother. She kept an orderly home, cooked fabulous meals, made homemade candy and hand-dipped chocolates, which she shared with many, and trained up her children to become upstanding, competent adults. Her greatest joys came from her family.
She is survived by her husband, Pryce, sons, C. Michael (Elizabeth), Taylorsville, Richard Jay (Juanita), Brent Reed (Tonya), both Centerville, and daughter Sharolyn (Ralph) Knudsen, Murray, 16 grandchildren and spouses, and 26 great-grandchildren (with two more on the way), brother Gaylen C. Larsen, brothers and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Preceded in death by her parents and brother, James C. Larsen.
The family wishes to thank Hearts for Hospice and Visiting Angels for their loving care.
