Cindy Ruth Hoag passed away in the early afternoon Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023 due to complications following breaking her hip in December. Cindy was born Sept. 23, 1952 in Haskell, TX to Charles Rex and Evelyn D. Hoag. Cindy was the youngest of 3 siblings and lived in Idaho, Texas, New Mexico, and Utah during her childhood. Cindy graduated from Viewmont High School in Bountiful, UT class of 1971.
Cindy worked at a variety of odd jobs, but spent most of her life under the care of her dear mother. They enjoyed doing many activities together, from sewing and gardening, to ceramics and cooking, to watching old westerns. When Cindy’s father was alive, the family enjoyed fishing and hunting together. One of Cindy’s favorite activities was putting together puzzles. When her mother was alive, they also took several road trips, and particularly enjoyed attending the annual Price family reunion. Cindy had a special place in her heart for animals, and cared for many cats throughout her life. She also had a special place in her heart for her siblings, and although she fought with them as siblings sometimes do, was greatly pained by the loss of her sister Charlet only a few months ago.
Cindy was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the wonderful members in the West Bountiful 3rd ward. They have shown countless acts of kindness towards Cindy, not only during the time after her fall, but in the years that have elapsed since her mother’s death. There truly are angels among us.
Cindy is preceded in death by her parents Rex and Evelyn, sister Charlet Bangerter, brother-in-law Alvis Hancock, and many dear aunts and uncles. She is survived by her brother Gary (Sheila) Hoag, her brother-in-law Larry Bangerter, her Aunt June, and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
We will celebrate Cindy’s life at a funeral on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., at the LDS 3rd ward house, 1750 North 900 West, West Bountiful, UT., where a viewing will be held before the funeral from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
