Claudia Beyer Westergard

July 8, 1949 — January 8, 2011

Claudia Beyer Westergard ended her fight with cancer Saturday, January 8, 2011 in her home in Bountiful, Utah Born July 8, 1949 in Salt Lake City to John & Lucille Beyer. Married to Len Sterling Westergard in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in September of 1980, later divorced. Claudia had one son, Christian, who besides being his mother, was his, as well as her best friend. Claudia served an LDS mission in the Manitoba-Minnesota Mission, where she loved serving the Lord and the people of that great area. Claudia was one to play and be with the children in her family, always having a love for teaching, playing and loving each one of them. Claudia worked in school foods for Davis County School District for over 25 years, which she cherished many of the friendships gained throughout the schools over the years. She served in many callings in the LDS Church, but her favorite was working with the enrichment days girls. She is survived by her son, Christian; and four brothers, John (Sue), Robert (Peggy), Bruce (Bonnie), and Richard (Sally) Beyer; and one sister, Linda (Arnie) Foote. Having no grandchildren of her own she treated each and every niece and nephew as her own, spoiling them sometimes more than their grandparents, to which some actually called her grandma. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Bountiful 11th Ward, 115 Wicker Lane, Bountiful. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Wednesday morning 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery. The family is asking that donations, instead of flowers, be given, which will be donated in Claudias name, to the Utah Cancer Specialists of Utah, 1121 East 3900 South, Suite 230, SLC, Utah 84124, where she was treated for 8 years.
