Cleo Hobbs Ward, 80, passed away peacefully at her home July 30, 2019. Cleo was born September 18, 1938 in Smithfield, Utah. She was the second child of four born to Earnest Samuel Hobbs and Sarah Merrill. She grew up in Star Valley, Wyoming were she had an eventful childhood that included having to ski to the bus stop in the winter that was several miles away. She graduated from Idaho Falls High and attended a year of college at Utah State Agricultural College in Logan now known as Utah State University. She married the love of her life Leon Thomas Ward on November 26, 1957 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They were blessed with four sons and one daughter, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren with another on the way.
Cleo devoted her life to her family and her Heavenly Father. She was very humble, generous, and thoughtful of others even when she was dealt a lot of challenges and hard times throughout her life. She was well known for her baking abilities and her whole family will miss her Thanksgiving rolls and desserts that we have tried to replicate but fail. She spent many years cooking and baking at South Davis Community Hospital where she was famous for her cinnamon rolls. They pleaded with her to come back over and over after she left just to get those cinnamon rolls again! She was very talented with quilting, sewing, and knitting. She made baby blankets for most of her grandchildren and great grandchildren that are beautiful and cherished by all. All of her kids still remember the hand sewn pajamas she made for them every Christmas while growing up. She loved her annual camping trips with the family to Fish Lake, Utah. It was her favorite spot and became the whole family’s as well with so may great memories made there.
