Cleone Rich Frischknecht, age 91, our angel mother, grandmother and great-grandmother peacefully passed from this life to the next on August 27, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Farmington, Utah.
Cleone was born August 18, 1925 in Paris, Idaho to Lyman Holmes and Ada (Shepherd) Rich. She was raised in a happy home with the influence of a large, extended family. She remained close to her sisters, brothers, and cousins throughout her life.
Cleone graduated from Logan High School and attended Utah State Agricultural College prior to her marriage to Reed Lund Frischknecht on August 26, 1946 in Logan, Utah. They were later sealed in the Manti Utah LDS Temple on January 10, 1998.
Cleone emulated her mother in creating a happy home for her husband and her children. Her home and heart were a refuge for her family. She was quick to smile and laugh and was kind to everyone. She looked like a porcelain doll and was just as sweet. She was also strong, courageous, hard working, and willing to take on adventure.
She was a fabulous and fun Grandma. Each grandchild felt that she loved to be with them, and she thought they were wonderful in every way. Reed and Cleone loved to spend their summers at their cabin on Henry’s Lake in Idaho where their grandchildren have fond memories of being with them.
Reed passed away January 15, 2013 after a long decline. Cleone will be revered by her posterity for her remarkable love for, devotion to, and tender care of her husband. She was a great example of pure love.
Cleone gave quiet and tender service in her neighborhood and LDS ward relief society. She loved her ward family, neighbors and friends, and they reciprocated that love. Her family wishes to express their gratitude to them for all of their loving care and service in her behalf.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann (Lynn) Summerhays of Farmington, Utah and son, David Reed (Debbie) Frischknecht of Denver, Colorado, eleven grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and sister, Marilyn (Reed) Mickelson of Logan, Utah.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:00am at the East Millcreek 9th Ward, 3750 South Hillside Lane (2524 East), Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends and family may visit Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at the church building and from 9:30-10:30am prior to the service. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery at approximately 3:30pm.
