Clifford Albert Taylor – October 26, 1929 to December 11, 2021
Clifford Albert Taylor (Cliff) lived a full and happy life. While he leaves behind his family here, we know he is reunited with his best friends and brothers Eddie and Dale and his sister Mildred Ruth.
Born in Pocatello Idaho to Thomas Albert Taylor and Azella Irene Bullock, Cliff was the second of five children. His older brother Eldon Ray passed away before Cliff’s birth.
Cliff always loved music. When he was nine years old he started to play the violin. He played with a group of young musicians at the World’s Fair on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay in 1939. He sang in many quartets and choirs.
Working was a necessity and a way of life. Cliff had many jobs while growing up. He attended Idaho State University.
While at ISU, Cliff met Beatrice Rydalch. One year after they met Cliff received his draft notice and spent the next two years in the Army, including a year in Korea and Japan. Upon his return in the summer of 1952, they began dating again and were married on September 5, 1952.
Cliff completed his degrees at the University of Idaho where he earned a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering. As the young family looked for new opportunity they moved to San Francisco to work for Shell Oil Company, where he was employed for over 30 years. Shell gave Cliff and his family many great experiences and they enjoyed living in California, Kentucky, Illinois and Texas.
After their retirement Cliff and Bea moved to Farmington to be close to their aging parents in Idaho. The move of necessity soon became home base for their family. Both of their children lived in Utah. Weekly Sunday dinners together were a blessing to each member of our close family.
Even though Cliff and Bea came from small towns in Idaho they travelled the world and were always up for a good road trip. Cliff and Bea served a mission in Orlando Florida serving as ordinance workers in the Temple. They also served in the Ogden Temple and many church callings. Cliff’s time as Bishop in Houston was a cherished experience.
Cliff loved watching birds, reading the newspaper every day and sports of all kind. He was a very avid Utah Jazz Fan.
While Cliff had many titles in his life the name of Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great were his greatest treasure. He was always a friend to those in need and will be missed by many.
Cliff is survived by his wife Bea, daughter Jan Marie (Steve) Clark, son Don (Sonja) Taylor, his grandchildren Emily (Josh) Harker, Ashley (Greg) Moore, Natalie (Kelly) Bigelow and his great grandchildren Kennedy, Owen and Jack. He is also survived by sister-in-law’s Sheila Taylor and Pompy Taylor, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Cliff will be remembered Thursday, Dec 16, 2021 at 11 AM at the Somerset Chapel, 1885 Summerwood Drive in Farmington, Utah with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 that morning. He will be buried in the Farmington City Cemetery.
