Cody Gary Carlson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son and brother, Cody Gary Carlson. He was born June 16, 1997, in Salt Lake City, UT and passed away on October 10^th, 2022. He attended Creekside Elementary, Lomond View Elementary, Orion Jr. High, and Weber High School. He held a variety of occupations and had a passion for learning a variety of skills.

From a very young age we knew there was something special about Cody. Anyone who knew him felt he was one of the funniest guys on earth. His quick wit and humor were unparalleled; once he started laughing, there wasn’t anyone around that could help but to join in. His work ethic was unmatched. Once he put his mind to something, there was no stopping him. He was extremely intelligent and inquisitive; and was always taking things apart to understand how they worked. Most of the time, he’d get it back in working order. He had a unique way of sharing his love for those closest to him. If you know, you know. No one else could so bluntly but eloquently tell you when you needed to shape up, and we all appreciated his impeccable advice. There wasn’t a more compassionate person. He loved deeply and had a heart of gold. From rescuing kittens to volunteering for the most difficult jobs; Cody was always looking for ways to help others. Those who knew him were blessed to be able to experience this firsthand. He was absolutely fearless, which led to some of his most awesome adventures. If he was playing at the lake, on a mountain skiing, or riding his motorcycle - he was in heaven. We will never forget one of Cody’s favorite ways to say goodbye; “See you later, butthead!”.  

He is preceded in death by his brother Christopher and Grandparents (Robert, Marilyn). He is survived by his parents (Steven, Camela), siblings (Katie, Jordan, Casey, Mariah, Courtnie, Kimberlee, Kamree), as well as his niece and nephew (Ben, Bella) who loved and looked up to him very much.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the Pleasant View 4^th Ward Chapel, 3035 N. 1325 W., Pleasant View, UT 84414 where a viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 9:00-9:45 a.m. prior to services.

Services will be streamed live on the Russon Brothers Mortuary Facebook page and on this obituary page.  The live stream will begin about 10-15 minutes prior to the service and will be posted below.
